InSinkErator Evolution Septic Assist Review

InSinkErator Evolution Septic Assist

Garbage disposals and septic tanks don’t always work well together. InSinkErator has designed a garbage disposal for septic systems, the InSinkErator Evolution Septic Assist.

Like the other garbage disposers in the InSinkErator Evolution series, the Septic Assist is expensive but you get what you pay for. The Evolution Septic Assist has been designed to minimize the strain on the septic system that a garbage disposer adds.

It is a 3/4 HP continuous feed garbage disposer. It is easy to install, no special skills or tools are needed, but it is a little bit heavy.

The Evolution Septic Assist is very quiet, fast and powerful. A container with citrus-scented Bio-Charge solution containing natural microorganisms is attached to the disposer. Every time the disposer is used, a little bit of Bio-Charge is automatically injected to help to break down the food waste. The citrus scent gives the disposer a pleasant smell.

One thing to remember is that the Evolution Septic Assist is a little bit larger than most other garbage disposers, so check that you have enough space under the sink before you buy. And remember that you also need space for the Bio-Charge injector which is attached to the disposal.

The Evolution Septic Assist is covered by InSinkErator’s four-year in-home service warranty. Note that no power cord is included with the Septic Assist.

What the customers say about the InSinkErator Evolution Septic Assist

The Evolution Septic Assist has an average customer rating of 4.8 out of 5. Almost all customers awarded it five stars out of five, it does not really have any significant shortcomings. Almost everyone said that the Septic Assist is powerful and quiet. No reported problems with jams or septic systems.

The only negative was that in a few cases some of the bio-charge solution had leaked and created a mess under the sink. But most customers had not had any such problems.

Here are some typical customer remarks:

“We have since installed the InSinkErator unit. It works beautifully. It is VERY quiet in operation and we were especially pleased with the feature that aids in use with septic systems. It runs so quietly that at first we thought it wasn’t working correctly. I would highly recommend this product and this company for their customer service.”

“The installation went exactly as documented, and the new disposal is working like a champ. I did have to redirect my plumbing pipes under the sink due to the fact that the new disposal was larger than the old one. It is much more powerful than my old unit, and is very quiet. I’m very happy with my purchase.”

“When I did research and found the InSinkErator Evolution Septic Assist, I knew it was the disposer for me. I love it. Five years later and still working great. Have never had to have it repaired; never have had it clog. My septic system runs great and we have it inspected every year.”
